Train-the-Trainer Model
This web application utilizes a train-the-trainer model as an approach to community education. Individuals are educated by a trainer knowledgeable in any given topic. Once completed, the learner is certified to become a trainer to others! Our goal is for information to spread exponentially from person to person, fighting disease transmission with information transmission.

Your Education Journey
Pre-Assessment
Take a short quiz on your selected education topic to help us accurately gauge community awareness on the selected education topic.
Provide your contact information to enter into raffles and affirm consent to use your deidentified data for research purposes.
2. Education
Participate in an interactive education activity either in-person with your trainer or virtually on your own.
Ask your trainer for their trainer ID to assign them credit for educating you.
3. Post-Assessment
Take a short quiz on your selected education topic to see what you've learned.
Reviewing your results can help clarify difficult concepts.
4. Certification
Congratulations!
You are now certified to teach others about your selected education topic. You will be provided with a Trainer ID - don't forget to write this down!
Get Volunteer Hours
By using the Community Education Mapping App to educate others, you can earn volunteer hours!
Please note that an individual must meet the following requirements to act as a trainer:
Completed the Educational Module on a given topic individually
Have a valid Trainer ID (Format: 1 letter followed by 8 numerical digits)
Confident in their ability to educate
There are two ways to obtain volunteer credit as a trainer.
Teach Independently
Review the Trainer materials to educate others in your immediate community! This can include friends, family, members of organizations that you are a part of, and more.
Participate in APHF Events
APHF hosts educational outreach events, in which trainers can interact and work with diverse communities. Events can be in-person across San Diego County or virtual via Zoom.
